Starting Week 3 of school and am praying for my administration today ❤️
Serving in administration is a weighty position and a high calling. Please take time to specifically pray (by name if you can) for the men and women in leadership positions at your school and in your broader school district: superintendent, principal, vice principal, behavior specialists, counselors, etc. As they are overseeing the daily operations, they need our prayer.
Prayer prompts:
Pray that, if they haven’t already, they would come to saving faith in Jesus Christ as Lord this year.

Pray for grace and accountability as they make tough decisions and work with students, parents, and teachers.

Pray that they would be strong leaders for their staff and would truly listen to the needs of their community. Pray for wisdom as they seek to keep the school a safe place for the teachers to teach in and the students to learn in.

Pray that they would appropriately balance their home and school lives, so that their families won’t be neglected.

Pray for wisdom and discernment as they hire new staff for the coming school year.

Do you do a read aloud in your family? We almost always have a book we’re reading or listening to as a family. Our newest one is so sweet and fun: Tumtum and Nutmeg by Emily Bearn. It’s about two extremely civilized mice, one family desperate for love, and the adventures they have together.

Just a normal Saturday morning over here - you know, cutting out my students’ heads 🤪🤣🥰
Instead of traditional classroom jobs I’m simplifying things and having each student take a turn to be Explorer of the Week - he/she will my helper in the classroom (passing out/collecting papers, line leader/door holder, errand-runner, board-cleaner, etc. - all the fun stuff!) and they also have the option of bringing in either an item to show the class or a picture book to read to the class. The Explorer of the Week will also have the VIP bin of special supplies on their desk! (I posted about my VIP bin a couple weeks ago).

Each student will get their picture on a passport (hence the head-cutting) and I’ll post it when it’s their turn to be Explorer of the Week! 🎉✈️🌎

This summer our library did this cool community art project. Every time you checked out books you would get a small pack of stickers to add to this huge sticker by letter picture. My kids loved it!

A prayer for my kids on their first day of school:
“Father, we thank You for the promise that You go before us and never leave our side. We trust in You. God, I pray for my children today as they start school. Flood their hearts with the peace that passes understanding, that only comes from you. Help them to be attentive listeners and develop a love of learning. I pray that they remember they was designed to learn and create, as they were made in your image. Help them to shine the light of Jesus through their words, actions, and attitude. Give them eyes to see kids who need a friend - and prompt them to meet that need. I pray that they would celebrate when they are successful, and also when they fail, because that is how we all learn. Give them a resiliency and perseverance that glorifies You. Keep them safe. May they become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then they will shine among them like stars in the sky. (Philippians 2:15) In Jesus's name, Amen.”
To my beloved children: Be brave. Show love and compassion. Never be ashamed of the Gospel. Speak the Truth. Walk with the King today.
