Welcome to another week of Prayers for the Teachin

Welcome to another week of Prayers for the Teaching Journey! Today let’s pray for OBEDIENCE.
We are all called to obey – or to submit to the authority of – those that God has placed over us (The Lord himself, employers, supervisors, parents, etc.) As parents we are quick to demand obedience from our children (right away, all the way, with a happy heart!) but are we modeling obedience in our own lives? Do we submit to the authority given to us in God’s Word? Do we cheerfully comply to the demands of our principals, supervisors, and superintendents? Take some time today to reflect on your heart’s willingness to obey. We know that we are ultimately working for the Lord and not human masters – but often our obedience to earthly authority can be a testimony to the world of who we are truly serving.
Do you need an obedience adjustment?

James 1:22 says “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” This verse implies two commends: We need to be actively and intentionally in the Word (so we know what it says) and then we need to obey (do what it says).
Simple? Yes!
Easy? No.

I am praying for you this week, dear teachers! I pray that your heart would long to obey God’s Word, that you might be more and more like Jesus, the one who modeled perfect obedience. I pray that you would cheerfully obey the authorities God has placed over you. I pray that your students would learn the value of lifelong obedience – not just so they behave well for you in the classroom, but more so that their hearts would be ripe to obey the One who created them, loves them, and died for them.

Prayers for the Teaching Journey>> ENDURANCE.
My pastor once preached on the Two Builders from Matthew 7 a and it has really stuck with me ever since. If you're unfamiliar with the parable, here's a quick summary: Jesus is teaching his disciples and He tells a parable (story used to teach) about two men who built their houses - one on the sand and one on the rock. A terrible storm came with heavy rain and strong winds. The house built on the sand fell, but the house built on the rock weathered the storm. The solid foundation allowed the house to endure.
My pastor said something in the sermon that I've been mulling over: The storm came to both builders. Difficult times come to both the saved and the unsaved alike. Just because we put our faith in Jesus doesn't mean that we won't be called to stand firm through life's storms. In the end, the difference between the one that fell and the one that endured was the foundation.
Questions for you:
--Where is your foundation?
--When the storms of life come (and you can be sure they're coming!) will you be able to endure?

Webster describes endurance as "to remain firm under suffering or misfortune without yielding." Dear teacher, let's pray for endurance this week! I pray that, despite suffering and trials, you will remain firm in the strength and hope that comes from knowing Jesus Christ. God not only calls you to endure, but He also equips you to do so. Colossians 1:11 says, we are "being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience."

I know you are juggling a lot of plates, wearing many hats, and being stretched these days. You may be temped to give up or give in. I urge you to pray and ask for the endurance to keep on keepin' on! God has promised you will reap the reward if you don't give up (Galatians 6:9) and we can be a witness to an unbelieving world when we choose endurance, even when times are tough.

I'm praying for you, teachers - You are doing an amazing job!!! Your students are blessed to have you and you are making an eternal impact for the Kingdom.
